it's on! Do you like Packers or Bears? I'm going with Bears at home.

Not game related, but I saw some troubling information about Saints QB Drew Brees. Brees recently made a "bring your Bible to school day" video where he advocated sharing the good word to kids' friends. Not really something I want kids feeling like they need to do, but whatever. I know and love many evangelicals. What made this worse is that the video was made by Focus on Family, a VERY anti-gay group. He's even had a relationship with Focus on Family since 2010. Drew!!!

This hits me hard as I love Brees. I'm a die-hard Saints fan and my kids even have Brees jerseys. I had thought about getting a Brees jersey (already have Archie Manning and Deuce McCallister ones), but now I think I'll hold off until I hear something from Brees that reassures me that he's not a bigoted idiot.

Wow - it looks like the Raiders are going to suspend AB.

Some say this may wipe out his guaranteed money. The Raiders are an impressive organization.

It has to really suck to discover your idol is one of the deplorables. How are the kids taking the news that you have no choice but to burn their Brees jerseys in effigy?

I think we need to wait for more evidence on this one. He's done anti bullying and It Gets Better videos in the past. It could be a case where all his views don't align with the group that is sponsoring the one video. It was noted in one article I saw that the video itself doesn't have the FoF tag anywhere on it.

Who signs him? I can't imagine anyone guaranteeing him a thing, which is why he left Oakland. So does he play again?

I love my Broncos but this is almost the final straw with me and the NFL. I'm going to strictly watch Bronco games and nothing else. Unfollowed everyone on social media that reports NFL news, even the Broncos media. Not watching a single game outside of the Broncos.

Thank goodness I'm in the south and college football country. My Sunday's will give me more time for other things now.

I need to see full contract details. $10 mil guaranteed seems like a lot if it is really fully, no strings attached guaranteed.

<Bill> We made a signing that we think will benefit the team in the long term. We'll see how he can contribute and we'll take it from there. There is a lot to be done in practice to see how he fits, but we're focused on next week at this point. </Bill>

Ravens have put up 30+ points in the first half... defense is competent... contributions from the new guys Thomas and Brown (and even Boykin). I know it's just the Dolphins, but at least it's more entertaining to watch than most of the Flacco years.

And later today, the Steelers face the Patriots, so it's likely one of my least favorite teams will have to lose. A loss by the Browns would be the cherry on top of this Sunday.

Buffalo is on pace for 128 turnovers this season.

And they’re only down by 6 going into the half.

Excepting the first drive, they look undisciplined on defense and have no offensive line ( even before ther starting left tackle was ejected for kicking a guy in the head from his back.).

Yeah, I haven't seen much from the Browns game, so I can't speak to how they look. Just the off-season hype has been a little crazy IMO, and it'd be nice to see them taken down a peg. What looks good on paper doesn't always translate.

There is about 5:00 left in the third and Cleveland already has 14 penalties for 142 yards. It is absolutely killing them.

8:35 left in the fourth...17 for 167. 17 is the most for the Browns since 1951.

Wiki
There have been only 25 tied games since overtime was introduced in 1974; 17 ties occurred from 1974 to 2011 under the original overtime rules, while eight ties have occurred since the overtime rules were modified in 2012. Four seasons (1986, 1997, 2016, and 2018) had two ties since the introduction of overtime. ... The Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars are the only current NFL teams that have never recorded a tied game; the New England Patriots have never recorded a tie in an NFL game, but recorded nine ties as members of the American Football League (AFL). The Chicago Bears have played to 42 ties (all prior to 1974), the most of any NFL team, while the Green Bay Packers have recorded the most ties since the 1974 introduction of overtime, with six.
And in the "Things I didn't know Department"
In 2017, NFL shortened overtime from 15 minutes to 10 minutes for preseason and regular season games with the intent of reducing the risk of injury, despite concerns that this would lead to more ties.

I only watch the Seahawks (until playoffs) and it was painful this week. 3 and out , 6 times Yet, the Seahawks managed to accidentally win. The Bengals kicked our asses, good and hard and long, yet somehow it wasn't reflected on the scoreboard at the end. I watched the game, and still have no idea how that happened.
