In the same stadium, no less. That means they own the stadium now, right?

Who would want to own real estate in New Jersey?

It’s a dark day to be a Steelers fan. Unless we get some positive news, it seems like there’s a good chance Ben’s career is done. Rudolph impressed in his debut, but I hate to see a future hall of famer go out like that.

Looking online, I’m amazed at the number of Steelers fans who say they don’t remember the dark ages before Big Ben. Oh how spoiled they have been. I suffered through some terrible QBs in my childhood, but at least we had The Bus and some really good defenses.

He settled a civil suit out of court and the other case was not prosecuted (apparently at the request of the victim).

Curious how much money he made in being released twice in two weeks. He got a $9 million signing bonus with the Pats, didn't he? How much does he get to keep?

My understanding is that the Raiders voided his contract, and didn't pay him anything.

Not sure on the Pats.

It is unclear. The first signing bonus payment...$5mil... was due Sunday. It's unknown if he will file a grievance to get it or what the contract exact terms are.

Probably there is citizenship clause in the contract where it can be voided for reprehensible behavior, or even accusations of such. Probably Kraft wondered why he was paying guy all that money when he has a QB who was able to make Wes Welker and Danny Amendola stars. So he then had one of his "massage therapists" make some accusations and poof! He was gone.

Apparently he started harassing the anonymous woman who talked about him in an SI story on Wednesday. That would probably give the Pats an out on paying him.

The bigger thing is how much money he has lost in the last two weeks.

What is $80 million to a NFL franchise? Especially if they are moving to a brand new stadium in Las Vegas next season. I do not think Gruden will survive as the head coach to see Las Vegas.

Daniel Jones is having a great debut as the starting QB for the Giants! I hope they don’t break him as the season goes on. And I hope the Giants D can hold on and give Jones his first win. But as I watch that’s not likely. In any case, good job Jones!

Edit: Nope, 2nd and goal Bucs.

Edit: Holy shit! Kick is no good! Giants win!

Well one wonders if they’ll engage the fans after years of only winning three games a season which is about as much as you can expect with Gruden as coach. That worked in Oakland but who knows if it’ll play in Vegas.

Rudolph’s debut for the Steelers could have better. When a young QB steps in you need the rest of the team to step up. The defense did that, forcing 4 first half turnovers. The offense didn’t. The o-line was terrible, the running game was weak, and the receivers couldn’t get open. Add on top of that the fact that Rudolph looked like a kid making his first career start and you have the recipe for a long day.

There were flashes of excitement in the 2nd half, and the Steelers could have won the game. They were up 3 with the ball with 5:00 to play, but Conners fumble sealed the deal. The defense was gassed and there was no way they were stopping the 49ers offense.

The season is already lost, so that takes a lot of the pressure off this team. But I’m going to hold on for a week or two before hitting the Buy button on that Rudolph jersey.

Apparently what the Patriots are relying on is a clause in Brown's contract requiring him to disclose anything that might impact his eligibility to play. Presumably his not disclosing his past history of committing sexual assaults.

Doesn't seem super airtight to me, but we'll see I guess.
