Stranger Things nostalgia was awesome in season 3.

The scene (everyone knows the one I'm talking about if you have seen it) near the end of the final episode that is related to a cool 80's movie was awesome!

Okay, so my current pet theory about Stranger Things
Spoiler:
Will is the Mind Flayer. Think about it, in the first season, his module had a demogorgon, and we get a demogorgon. Second season a mind flayer, third season, zombies. All his modules. The upside down has the Hawkins buildings, trees, etc, so in some sense it is a reflection of the "real" world, and things on this side are reflected there. Why couldn't the manifestation on the other side be all of Will's repressed feelings? An Id looking for an outlet?
Just a theory. Discuss.

That's a really interesting theory. I like it!

I was under the impression this was supposed to be the last season, so the final moments of the season finale were a complete shock. I have no idea where they are going to go with season 4.

I was pretty much shocked too, but I gotta believe season 4 is happening. A lot of room for more story, including that cliffhanger.

I think season 4 is a definite, even if it hasn't been officially announced yet. I was looking around the web when I finished season 3 and it seems like the Duffer Brothers have been talking about having the show mapped out through 4 seasons. Somehow I had it in my head that they were walking away after season 3. That's clearly not the case.

I was under the same impression that season 3 was the last. I ended up starting it a bit late so by the time I started it I already knew there was a post credits scene. Anyway, I finished this tonight. Aside from the slow first episode which annoyed me with how idiotic Hopper was, it was pretty awesome. One thing I kept saying to myself over and over again was "How is this shit TV-14?!" Lots of great gore and violence. I kept thinking about The Thing and then they finally mention it in the show! LOL. Anyway, I expect a torturous wait for the next (final?) season in 2-5 years.

So far I've only watched season 1.
Can I skip season 2 and go straight to 3?

I wouldn't recommend doing so myself.

There are at least a couple of new main characters introduced in Stranger Things season 2 that feature prominently in season 3 that might otherwise seem somewhat out of the blue if you go directly from season 1 to season 3.

Also, while I loved season 3 more than 2, it’s not because season 2 was bad. It’s well worth watching.

Watch Season 2. It is great except for 1 episode that I thought wasn't needed.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

When we started watching Season 3 I couldn't get over how old the kids were. Then last night I walk into the bedroom and my wife is rewatching season 1, and I couldn't get over how young the kids looked.

I was also immediately hooked into the show again, and sat with her watching almost 3 episodes.

I thought I had heard, most likely on here, that Season 2 was pretty much a bust.
Looks like I may have been wrong.

I liked Season 2. There were a few eye-roll moments and one completely pointless episode, but it's certainly worth watching.

Yeah, seasons 1 & 3 are notably better, but season 2 is still excellent.

No, you're thinking of <insert name of any Marvel Netflix show>.

We Have Always Lived in the Castle. Based on the Shirley Jackson novel. It’s a fun little southern gothic tale. But it’s got the great Crispin Glover, which is the real selling point. Are we in the midst of a Crispin Glover renaissance? I’ve been seeing more and more of him lately in various shows and movies. I hope this world is worthy of such a thing.

Oh, and the Winter Soldier is in it too.

Sweetheart on Netflix is a solid creature feature if you’re looking for one. One of the best reveals of a monster I’ve seen in a while.

Just saw this, it's great. And it's leaving Netflix Aug. 9, so see it this weekend if you want to I guess?

One of my favorite anecdotes from the Back to the Future segment of The Movies That Made Us is that they were forced to build a little fence around Crispin Glover to keep him from continuously walking off-camera during one of his scenes. :P

Crispin is one of those lovable eccentrics, not one of the scary ones.

I watched the Ghostbusters episode of that series and had just started the Back to the Future episode. Looks like I need to finish it up tonight to get my Glover fix.

Watching Kingdom: Ashin of the North, the spin off movie for the great Korean historical thriller with zombies show Kingdom. I like it. What I enjoy about the series and now this movie is that I always end up googling info on all these historical groups while watching them. It really helps to understand the different factions and what they were all about.
