December Dallas-area lunch (Cross Posted)

Post by Isgrimnur »

It's December, which means that it's time to plan for lunch.

Initial thoughts are Monday, 12/15, 11:30 - 1:30 being the standard hours for the last two.

Urban Spoon has suggested to me that we do Bone Daddy's to change it up from our run of Mexican food.

All details are up for debate here and the other place.

I'm up for it - that week will be slow, so any day will work for me (except Friday)

While teaching does afford a wonderful set of breaks during the holidays and the summer, all attempts at meeting for lunch are stymied by actually having to work during that time.

I would have liked to go and meet you guys (I have met GungHo and Fret once), so maybe another time. Oggle some breastseses for me!

We had five in appearance, as godhugh was forced to cancel and the elusive GungHo eluded our attempts to garner a sighting.

My contention that I did not recall the state of the waitress uniform was met with snorts of derision.

DUDE! I suck. :( Seriously, completely slipped my mind. In my defense, my wife just got back into town from 2 weeks in Africa, but yeah, I still suck. :(

Glad to hear yall had a good time.

Stuff happens. And the return of a spouse from the other side of the planet surely counts as "stuff."

We had fun watching for a lost Marine in UT gear and even had the hostess keep her eye out for you.

You can now expect me to guilt you about it when I put January's lunch together. :P

If you do it sometime at the beginning (like VERY beginning...) I can make it. :) School starts back up on the 5th.

The main reason that I've been pimping luches is that so many of the peoples seem to be married with kids or working on them and weekend stuff didn't seem to be working. Cylus had graciously offered to host a GTG at his pad in Oct. that fell through.

I honestly wouldn't mind trying to get something together for a weekend if that works better for some, but I know there's a fair number of OO/GT people that are in family mode at that time.

Maybe I can start slating one weekday lunch and one weekend event per month so that everyone has a different opportunity to get together.

Heh, I bring the worst of both of those worlds to the table, I think. Not only do I have the wife/kid thing but I work a job that, for example, this week has me working at 7am on Tues, 11am on wed & Thur and 7pm on Fri. It's hard to schedule a shower around that mess, let alone anything that meets with something approaching regularity(speaking of which...anyone know anything about ExLax?).

Personally, Ive just got to not be a douche and put this stuff in my calendar and Im good. But when that doesnt happen, Im lucky to remember to get outta the bed each day.
