Escort vehicles can now move through the player’s ‘Mechs and each other
This is LONG overdue. I've lost at least half a dozen escorts to errors in the pathing for the vehicles.

I hate to say it, but I was disappointed that there were no new "story" or Campaign elements in any of the DLC. I thought we might get something with the last patch, or one more DLC not included in the pass.

I did enjoy the game, but playing in the sandbox mode was never what I enjoy in games like this. I enjoy the battles, but I always like to have a reason for the battles, and going somewhere with it, instead of just killing things and getting more money to kill bigger things. <shrug>

Yeah, just new flashpoints, which are sort of mini-campaigns / campaign-lets

Yeah, Steam is treating the season pass as a bundle, so you get the bundle discount (on top of any sale discount) but only need to buy the parts of the bundle that you don't have.

Minor patch 1.9.1 is out, which fixes a couple of minor bugs (including one which affected me, the inability to delete GoG saves).

Now to wait for the mod maker guys to catch up, and then I'll finally be able to play through a career without worrying about a patch whacking me upside the head.

This is certainly a game that needs to be set to NOT auto-update. I've got it disabled, but haven't been back in a while.

Another couple weeks in, the mods getting anywhere?

If not, any idea what's taking so long? (Hopefully not COVID-19 related)

"Battletech Extended 3025" used to be very active but now hasn't been update since February 11. Is it still going?

The next update for Battletech Extended 3025 is being worked on (full disclosure, I'm helping out in the interest of getting it out the door a little faster). Once it's done, you'll be able to call it 3025-3057.

Sorry, not much of my writing in that one. I mostly imported the large number of uh... technologically advanced mechs that would start showing up around the 3050 timeframe and did a bunch of other data entry automation.

I also learned about "A-Pods", which are these one-ton things that you strap to the legs that are supposed to be one-shot anti-infantry weapons but are actually a complete waste of tonnage on any mech that mounts them. Like, I'd seriously just leave the mech under-mass and take the cost savings.

I never really played with clan mechs. Moving from tonnage scrimmages to cost games with pods and such just kinda didn't have that feel for me. Who knows maybe decades later this game could do it for me.

Thanks! I'm currently playing a lot of Battletech and eventually would like to change things up a bit. I suppose that my saves from the original game with DLCs won't be compatible with the mod? A bummer if so since I'm at the point in my career where I have a stable of nicely outfitted heavy and assault mechs but I certainly understand from a technical standpoint.

I'm looking forward to the large and changing map.

It's possible that your saved game will load up, but we make absolutely no guarantees that it will - the recommendation is to install on top of a fresh, unmodded game install and don't screw around with the settings at first. Especially if you're not comfortable with HBS Battletech mods.

That being said, when this comes out, I'm fully planning on dumping a bunch of extra flashpoints in there, the "bigger drops" mod (allows you to drop up to two lances into a mission given a major argo upgrade investment) and a tweaking the settings in the MissionControl submod to allow extra allied and hostile lances to spawn, as well as make the maps bigger.

I'll probably start a fresh career since half the fun was carving out a name for my outfit from a bunch of light mechs.

All this talk and no one is going to bite on his not-so-subtle hint?

Is there a storyline to tie-in to the...new arrivals around 3050?

I'm currently playing a Battletech Extended game using the 1.8 version. Any chance that I can bring my save game over to the new version? If not, I'll just stick with the current version -- it's great.

Well, it's out, compatible with 1.9.

Battletech Extended 3025-3057

I've tested it and you will absolutely have to start a new career with it, no ifs and or buts. Sorry. I also sincerely doubt anyone's tested it in the campaign mode, so try at your own risk.

Lots of cool new features. Here's a few:
Start in 3025, 3039, 3049 or 3053
Clan Mechs: what's a Clan Invasion without horribly overpowered mechs that'll wipe the floor with you?
Historically Accurate Starmap: Watch in "real time" as the Federated Suns wallop the Capellan Confederation, the formation of the Free Rasalhague Republic. Then watch said Republic get gobbled up by the mechs from the previous item.
Tech Progression: LosTech goes from ultra-rare to relatively common. Uses faction-specific random unit assignment tables (RATs) to determine what you'll be fighting against.
News Updates: Want to know what's going on in the Inner Sphere? ComStar's got you covered for news, Inner Merc has you covered for new tech coming out (first Inner Merc publication out in 3048)
Mission Control included: By default, a few new contract types and randomized spawn locations. If you tweak the config file, you can enable extra allied and hostile lances to spawn as well, as well as make the battlefields larger.
New Flashpoint in 3039

With all those clans and possible extra lances, I might recommend the following mod:
Bigger Drops
Lets you drop up to eight mechs, given a significant investment in the argo upgrades it adds.

There are also a couple of extra flashpoint mods that I'll post once I have time to run the links down.

Found 'em:
https://www.nexusmods.com/battletech/us ... user+files
Grab "It Came from the Rim", "Jinxed" and "The Periphery is a Harsh Mistress", that'll get you four extra flashpoints.

I'd like to play "The Cache", but there's a bug in it that gives you like a hundred mechs once you complete it, leaving the rest of the game kind of not a challenge.

Those Free Rasalhague Republic bastards keep trying to muscle me out of my battlefield salvage with some legalese in an end of battle event. First time around they gave me some compensatory salvage which I took along with a rep boost. The second time annoyed the shit out of me so I contested it. (also just wanted to see what would happen) My space lawyer that I hired for 45,000 C bucks was pretty awful and I lost the case. I wonder if any of my mechwarriors can get the "Saul Goodman" trait and improve our chances in merc court? An annoying but slick random event!

Quite an enjoyable game so far. My light and medium mechs are really maneuverable with their jump jets and unlike my vanilla career I'm doing a lot more close quarter fighting with my flamer equipped mechs. Looking forward to exploring more of the universe and great job!
