Games on your wish list this year

Post by Bakhtosh »

What games coming out in the next couple of months will be on your Christmas wish list? I haven't been keeping up, and I don't have anything on my list except a year's subscription to Laser Squad.

If it gets very good reviews, I'll be tempted by Half-Life 2, because HL was the first and only FPS I have ever enjoyed. But I'd need a new video card first, so maybe I'll just pass. There's nothing else on my radar.

You know, I'm pretty happy with the collection of games I have. I don't really have anything on my wish list. Huh. That's weird. HL2 is on the list, but I'll wait a while for a price drop. I might pick up WarCraft 3 sometime. I dunno. I'm not used to this feeling.

Between Rome and (soon) Half Life 2, I'm covered for a long time.

I will probably try EQ2; maybe it can keep me occupied for a couple of years like the first one did.

HL2
Vampire
Scrapland and Psychonauts look intriguing, but I'm not sure when they are coming out.

EQ2 or WoW probably, the Vampire game looks intrigueing too.

I'm not interested in HL2, didn't really like the first one.

Zoo Tycoon 2, Evil Genius, Children of the Nile, probably. Pirates is already preordered, and Bard's Tale isn't until next year, or else it would have been on the list too.

You see, I'd put games on my X-Mas wishlist but then I'd have to wait until X-mas to get them. Of course there could always be ones that I did not want to spend my money on but if I got for free would be cool so I'd have to then list:

Rome: Total War
WH40K: Dawn of War
Sacred

nothing for PC :(

I was looking forward to Locomotion but after its mediocre reviews I'm sticking with the Win95 version of Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

I don't get games as gifts. So far, the only game I haven't gotten to buying yet is SSG's Normandy game.

I guess HL2 is my only one for this year. I'm avidly waiting for Stalker and SH2 but they will be past Jan 1.

Nothing really. I've grown my backlog a bit more so I really don't need anymore games even though I'm planning to get RoN & the Exp for $20 at Best Buy this week to further enhance my backlog

I imagine I will get Pirates when it comes out. Shadow Vault looks as though it has possibilities. Other than that nothing floats my boat. But, you never know, occasionally a game comes out of nowhere and surprises you.

With two jobs, my gaming time is down to 1-2 hours, 4-5 times a week. I figure it will be way past Christmas before I finish the Scipii campaign in Rome:TW. Then there's Sims 2 to get back to. Then there's all the other campaigns.

But I will say that Children of the Nile looks cool, and will probably be my one purchase the rest of the year.

Vampire - Bloodlines
Children of the Nile
Kohan II
Evil Genius (after a price drop)
HL2 (maybe)

I'll probably pick up 1 or 2 of those before Christmas.

I've still got to play some W40K: Dawn of War and some XBox games, but for this year I'm still looking forward to:
Half-Life 2
WoW
Painkiller expansion
Halo 2
Battle for Middle Earth
Evil Genius (price drop & patch)

Early next year:
Psychonauts
Scrapland

I *badly* want:

X-Men Legends
Halo 2

I sorta want:
Half-Life 2 (reviews wanted first)
Tribes Vengence

But of course, to get any of those you need a magical substance called "Money."

I don't know what it is, or how one gets it, but my roomate has recommended that I wear these tight pants and fluffy pink skirt and stand down on East Colefax at 2 am in the morning if I want to get some of this magical "money" substance.
I'm special!

Man I must be the greediest person here

Pirates collector's edition
RCT3
Children of the Nile
Kohan 2
Evil Genius
Vampire Bloodlines
Rise of Nations Gold

I might buy the top two for my Dad and Mom respectively and ask for Children myself. Then of course borrow my parents games and disappear for a mnoth.

I liked LSN very much, however their current pricing comparable to a MOG is really out of the ball park for me - shame as its a great game.

In terms of my current list

EQ2
HL2

Real debate whether I go for both of these or just one of them - really can't make my mind up on it :( I know EQ2 will require some effort but I so want to see the visuals of HL2 :(

HL2
Pacific Fighters
Pirates!

What a sad season that there aren't many more good games coming!
Then again, I bought Planescape: Torment on a whim right before one of the holiday seasons, perhaps in 1999, and played the living hell out of that game for 2 weeks or so. I don't think I left the house until I beat it, and cried when I did so.
Man, what a game.

Either way, my girlie is coming in December, and she doesn't celebrate Christmas either, so we're set!
If only she was a little better at gaming... she needs training.

I literally haven't bought a single game since November 2003 (I got hooked on World of Warcraft) so I'm in an odd position. I've got almost a year's worth of games I haven't played, on top of wanting to re-play some favorites like Morrowind and System Shock 2 (now that I have the Prebirth Remix for it).

I'm withholding judgement on HL2 just because I felt like Deus Ex IW, Thief3 and Doom 3 all failed to live up to expectations. If it can actually meet or surpass the quality of HL1, I'll probably pick it up.

The only game getting my attention these days is World of Warcraft.

This will also be my first MMORPG,never really being interested in the genre before, but I love everything I've read and seen about this game and loved Warcraft II & III and that whole universe. And I know this type of game is a major time suck so I don't even want too get excited about anything else.

PC-wise:

Purchased Half-Life 2, just waiting for those guys to pull the switch.
Vampire: Bloodlines
Probably WoW, though I can't seem to shake the EQ2 interest
Oh - and Bioshock! :D

Console:
GTA: San Andreas
Halo 2

I think that's pretty much it..

If I spent full price on games they would be:

Children of the Nile
Vampire
Rise of Nations :Gold

But since I'm cheap, have a huge backlog, and generally won't spend over $10.00 for a game (I am the hated gamer of the developer - except I won't pirate)
